One Person Killed in Concord 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 242

Concord, Calif. – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle traffic collision that left one person dead on State Route 242 near Concord Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident happened at about 7:36 a.m. on southbound Highway 242 south of Clayton Road.

According to the CHP, a Ford sedan and a BMW SUV, each with one occupant, collided, for reasons still under investigation.

The driver of the Ford was killed in the incident. The name of the victim was not immediately released. The SUV driver escaped unhurt.

The crash remains under investigation.
