San Marcos, CA. – One person was hospitalized after a DUI accident that happened Saturday evening in San Marcos, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The crash occurred just before 7 p.m. on westbound State Route 78 and Twin Oaks Valley Road.
Authorities said two vehicles collided in the area at the gore point and the off-ramp.
First responders found a red Kia and a truck involved in the crash. One of the vehicles was reportedly driving on the right shoulder at a high rate of speed prior to the collision.
One person sustained minor injuries in the accident. The victim was taken to Palomar Medical Center for treatment.
Investigators said impairment contributed to the crash but did not give more details.
