Othello, WA – Two people were hospitalized following a head-on traffic collision on State Route 17 near Othello on Saturday, according to Washington State Patrol.
The collision occurred at about 8:30 p.m. on April 19 on State Route 17 about two miles north of Othello.
Washington State Patrol said 19-year-old Demetrio Robles of Moses Lake, was driving north on State Route 17 he crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a vehicle operated by Nancy Cortes, 44.
Cortes and her passenger 47-year-old Aquilino Cortes from Othello, were injured in the incident. The two were transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland.
Authorities said Robles fled the scene of foot but was later arrested and faces charges of felony hit-and-run, driving with a suspended license, and driving without a required ignition interlock.
The crash remains under investigation
