1 Airlifted After Multi-Patient Crash on State Route 9 in Saratoga
Saratoga, California (June 22, 2023) – Multiple people were injured in a head-on collision that happened Wednesday evening on State Route 9 near Saratoga, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The wreck took place at around 6:33 p.m. just south of Redwood Gulch Road.
CHP said a white Mercedes SUV and a silver Subaru SUV collided head-on under unclear circumstances.
Santa Clara County firefighters responded to the scene shortly after the collision.
An air ambulance and four ground ambulances were dispatched to the scene to transport the injured parties.
At least one victim was airlifted to the hospital with major injuries. Several others were transported by ground ambulance with unknown injuries.
The report said one of the drivers was possibly drunk.
The highway was closed in both directions following the collision.
