El Dorado County, CA. – A motorcyclist was airlifted to the hospital after a crash that happened Monday evening at an intersection in Garden Valley, the California Highway Patrol reported.

A motorcycle reportedly crashed into the back of a car under unclear circumstances.
El Dorado sheriff deputies and firefighters responded to the scene and found the rider suffering from major injuries.
An air ambulance was dispatched to the scene to airlift the patient to the hospital.
The patient's family also responded to the scene and took the motorcycle.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.
