Motorcyclist Loses Leg After Colliding into Parked Car in San Diego

San Diego, Calif. – A motorcyclist lost a leg after colliding into a parked car Saturday evening in the Valencia Park area of San Diego, police said.

The incident occurred around 6:35 p.m. in the 5200 block of Imperial Avenue.

According to authorities, a motorcyclist on a 2022 Harley-Davidson failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and hit a parked vehicle at the curb line.

The biker was thrown from the bike, sustaining multiple fractures to his right leg.

The motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital and experienced cardiac arrest twice before being stabilized for surgery. Doctors had to amputate his right leg due to his injuries that were considered life-threatening.
