, CA. – 68-year-old Michael Alvin Herman has been identified as the man who died days after being hit by a car in Bakersfield.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 4:20 a.m. on August 22, in the 3200 block of Stockdale Highway.

The man was riding a in the area when he was struck by a car.

The bicyclist was transported to Kern Medical where he later died from his injuries, according to the Kern County Coroner's Office.
