Michael Bernardo ID’d as 1 of 2 People Killed in Oakland Crash on Interstate 80 near University Avenue

Oakland, California (September 13, 2021) – Michael Bernardo, 46, of Hercules, has been identified as one of the two people who were killed in a Sunday morning traffic accident that left one other person injured in Oakland, authorities said.
The deadly three-vehicle accident transpired at about 1:36 a.m. on Interstate 80, west of University Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Chevrolet Malibu, a Dodge Durango, and. How the accident occurred is yet to be established.
Following the collision, the two drivers, Keandre Allums, 28, of San Pablo and Bernardo, and a passenger exited their vehicles and were struck by an oncoming Mini Cooper, driven by a 50-year-old San Francisco man.

Sadly, Allums and Bernardo were pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger, who was reportedly hit by the debris, was hospitalized with minor injuries.
Further details regarding the collision were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
