Mendocino County, CA.- A driver was flown to a hospital after being involved in a solo crash in Mendocino County on Monday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened on Highway 101 near mile marker 79.3, just north of Area 101 at about 4:57 p.m. December 8, 2025.
According to the CHP, a Toyota Corolla traveling on the highway lost control and crashed off the side of the highway. The vehicle came to a rest nearly 15 yards down a deep embankment.
Emergency crews responded to the incident and extricated the driver from the vehicle. The driver was then flown to a hospital with major injuries.
The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and no other injuries were reported. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene with major damage.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
