Maxine Carstedt Dead, Dustin Peck Injured in Phoenix Car Accident at Beardsley Road and 7th Avenue
Phoenix, Arizona (November 5, 2023) – Maxine Carstedt, 77, was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Friday night in Phoenix.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the fatal collision happened at around 10 p.m. at the intersection of Beardsley Road and 7th Avenue.
As per the preliminary investigation, 36-year-old Dustin Peck was driving a car eastbound on Beardsley Road when he failed to stop at a red light and struck a raised median before crashing into Carstedt's car which was stopped for a red light.
Carstedt was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
Peck had minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
Police believe alcohol and drugs played a role in the crash.
Dustin was arrested and charged with DUI and vehicular manslaughter.

The accident remains under investigation.
