Matthew Christopher Dies after Federal Way Bicycle Accident on Highway 18

Federal Way, Washington (November 10, 2023) – Matthew R. Christopher, 33, of Auburn, died following a bicycle accident that happened on Tuesday in Federal Way.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident occurred on the eastbound lane of State Route 18.
Christopher was riding his bicycle in the area when he was hit by a vehicle driven by a 63-year-old Tacoma man as he was attempting to merge onto eastbound SR-18.
Christopher was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The Tacoma man remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
The accident remains under investigation.
