Hesperia, CA. – 32-year-old Mark Alan Blackburn, of Pinon Hills, has been identified as the man who died in a crash involving a big rig on Friday night in Hesperia.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 11:20 p.m. on the 15 Freeway, just north of Joshua Street.
The man was driving a 2014 Mazda 3 south on the freeway when he crashed into the rear of a big rig that had slowed for construction.
The Mazda burst into flames after the collision.
Blackburn died at the accident scene, according to the San Bernardino County coroner's officials.
The driver of the big rig was unhurt.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
