CHP said a truck was heading south on Highway 63 when it tried to make a left turn and was rear-ended by a second car
Cutler, CA. – Marin Apodaca, 50, of Cutler, was killed in a collision that happened near Cutler on Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident happened on Highway 63 and Avenue 392 just before 6 a.m. September 27.
CHP said a truck was heading south on Highway 63 when it tried to make a left turn and was rear-ended by a second car.
As Apodaca approached the scene, he stopped to help clear debris from the crash but was hit by a 2016 Toyota.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Toyota was unhurt and stayed at the scene.
One person from the initial crash was treated for minor injuries.
The incident is under investigation.
