Man Killed, Woman Injured in 2-Car Crash in North Phoenix

Phoenix, Arizona (November 10, 2023) – A man died, and a woman was hospitalized after a two-car accident that happened Friday morning in north Phoenix.

Police said the wreck was reported around 6:30 a.m. near 27th Avenue and Deer Valley Road, off of Interstate 17.

Responding firefighters found the driver of one car, a man, with critical injuries. The firefighters attempted to resuscitate the man but were unsuccessful. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman driving the other vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the accident was not immediately established.

The intersection remained closed as authorities investigated.
