Man Hospitalized After Fresno Pedestrian Accident at Shaw and Valentine Avenues
Fresno, California (November 10, 2023) – A man was hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by a car Thursday night at an intersection in Fresno.
According to the Fresno Police Department, the accident occurred around 8:15 p.m. at Shaw and Valentine avenues.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the pedestrian was trying to cross the lanes of Shaw at Valentine. He was going from the south side of the street to the north in a crosswalk until he reached the westbound lane of Shaw. He exited the crosswalk and went diagonally across the westbound lanes in traffic.
The man was then hit by a vehicle.
The driver stopped and offered aid to the victim.
Emergency personnel responded and took the man to the hospital in critical condition.
No other details were given, but an investigation is ongoing.
