The Bakersfield Police Department said two officers were responding to a call and were heading northbound on South Union Avenue when their car struck Flores.

Bakersfield, CA., – 27-year-old Brandon Elliott Gabriel Flores of Bakersfield has been identified as the man struck and killed by a Bakersfield police patrol car, according to the Kern County Coroner's Office.
The collision happened at around 3:30 a.m. on June 17, in the 1500 block of South Union Avenue.
The Bakersfield Police Department said two officers were responding to a call and were heading northbound on South Union Avenue when their car struck Flores.
Flores sustained fatal injuries following the crash.
The two officers were identified as Officer Zachary Ward and Officer Julian Garcia.
The two officers worked with BPD for two years.
An investigation is ongoing.
