Man Dies in Pedestrian Crash in Fullerton

Fullerton, Calif. – A male pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday evening, according to the Fullerton Police Department.

The deadly auto-pedestrian crash was reported at around 7:13 p.m. 17 on South Brookhurst Road and West Southgate Avenue.

A 78-year-old man from Whittier was driving a southbound black truck on Brookhurst and at the same time, a pedestrian was crossing the street to the west.

The man then walked into coming southbound traffic and the truck was unable to yield before colliding with him.

According to the Paramedics from the Fullerton Fire Department, the pedestrian died at the scene.

The driver involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

Alcohol and drugs were not believed to have played a role in the wreck.

The identity of the deceased was not provided.

An investigation is underway.
