At Least 1 Severely Hurt in 5 Freeway Semi-Truck Crash near Delta Mendota Canal

Gustine, California (November 7, 2023) – At least one person was seriously hurt in a semi-truck accident that happened early Tuesday morning in Gustine, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers received reports of the collision around 3:55 a.m. on the southbound 5 Freeway just north of Delta Mendota Canal.

A sedan collided with a semi-truck for unknown reasons.

The driver of the sedan went unconscious after the collision.

Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene shortly after the accident.

At least one person sustained severe injuries in the collision.

The sedan was towed away with major front-end damage.

CHP officers are investigating the cause of the accident.
