According to the California Highway Patrol, Kevin Ouda, 11, of El Cajon, was out jogging with his Muay Thai team when he stepped into the roadway to avoid a dog in his path and was hit by a Chevrolet Cobalt
El Cajon, CA.- A boy who was hit and injured by a vehicle earlier this month in El Cajon has succumbed to his injuries.
The accident took place near North First Street and Sumner Avenue at about 8:40 a.m. December 21.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Kevin Ouda, 11, of El Cajon, was out jogging with his Muay Thai team when he stepped into the roadway to avoid a dog in his path and was hit by a Chevrolet Cobalt.
Ouda was taken to Rady's Children's Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased on Sunday, December 29.
The driver stayed at the scene and was not suspected of DUI.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
