Julio Guillen Killed in Colton Multi-Vehicle Collision on 215 Freeway at Barton Road

Colton, California (September 18, 2023) – 47-year-old Julio Antonio Menjivar Guillen of San Bernardino has been identified as the person who died following a traffic collision that occurred on September 9 in Colton.

At around 3:11 p.m., the California Highway Patrol dispatch received reports of a traffic collision on the northbound Interstate 215 Freeway at Barton Road.

Three vehicles, including a black sedan and a gray Toyota Tundra, were involved in the wreck. Preliminary investigation shows that a vehicle struck Guillen on the roadway in unclear circumstances. Two vehicles subsequently collided after the initial crash.

The man was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where he died.

The Tundra reportedly fled the scene after the accident but was later located.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
