Linn County, OR – A two-vehicle crash on Highway 20 in Linn County left one man dead and two others seriously injured on Friday afternoon
Oregon State Police responded to the scene around 4:45 p.m. October 17, 2025 on Highway 20 near milepost 23.
According to the preliminary investigation, a Subaru Outback driven by 19-year-old Katherine Elizabeth Spellman of Longmont, Colorado, was turning westbound onto Highway 20 from Liberty Road when it entered the path of an eastbound Harley Davidson Road King.
The motorcycle collided with the side of the Subaru. The motorcyclist, identified as 46-year-old Jeremy Wayne Smith of Lebanon, was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, 45-year-old Delana Ann Marie Smith, also of Lebanon, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.
Spellman, the driver of the Subaru, was also hospitalized with serious injuries. Her passenger, Shasta Faith Levin, 18, of Winston, was not injured.
Highway 20 was closed for approximately five hours while emergency crews and investigators worked the scene. The Oregon State Police were assisted by the Sweet Home Fire Department and ODOT.
