Isaiah Ortega-Dage Dies in Desert Hot Springs Accident on Palm Drive near Varner Road
Desert Hot Springs, California (September 11, 2021) – Isaiah Ortega-Dage, 23, a former student and football player at Shadow Hills High School, was killed in a crash in Desert Hot Springs on Saturday.
The incident occurred on Palm Drive north of Varner Road just after midnight.
According to CHP, Ortega-Dage was a passenger in a vehicle driven by a female driver on Palm Drive when they stopped between the right lane and the right shoulder.
Ortega-Dage stepped out of the vehicle and when he walked to the driver's side of their vehicle, he was hit by a pickup truck.
Isaiah Ortega-Dage Killed in Desert Hot Springs Crash
Ortega-Dage died at the scene of the collision. Authorities said he was a resident of Indio.
The driver of the pickup reportedly left the scene after the collision but was located shortly after and arrested on suspicion of DUI.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
