At least one person was seriously hurt when a sedan and a pickup truck collided head-on Saturday morning near an intersection in Byron
Byron, Calif. – A head-on collision that happened Saturday morning in Byron left at least one person suffering from major injuries.
The California Highway Patrol said the wreck was reported around 6:42 a.m. on Camino Diablo, midway between Vasco Road and Byron Highway.
A black sedan and a red pickup truck collided head-on, blocking both directions of traffic.
The Contra Costa County Fire Department responded to the scene shortly after the collision.
At least one person sustained major injuries in the crash. The patient was hospitalized in unknown condition.
Both vehicles were towed away from the scene with major front-end damage.
The roadway was reopened around 7:51 a.m.
Authorities are investigating the collision.
