Harjinder Singh Injured in Willows Truck Accident on 5 Freeway near Road 33
Willows, California (August 29, 2023) – A driver was injured in a collision involving two big rigs on Thursday afternoon near Willows in Glenn County.
The accident was reported around 3:08 p.m. on Interstate 5 Freeway south of Road 33, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Timothy Neith, 59, of Diamond Springs, was driving a 2018 Kenworth southbound on Interstate 5 Freeway when it slowed down at a construction zone.
At the same time, Harjinder Singh, 54, of Atwater, was driving a 2022 Kenworth behind Neith’s semi when he failed to notice slow traffic ahead of him and rear-ended the truck in front of him.
The impact of the collision sent the 2022 Kenworth off the roadway while Neith’s truck became disabled in the lanes.
Singh suffered major injuries including a broken femur and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
More details about the accident were not released.
