Glenn Watkins Dies in Deschutes County Pedestrian Accident on Highway 97
Deschutes County, OR – Glenn Curtis Watkins ,28, of Bend has been identified by the Oregon State Police as a pedestrian struck and killed in a Friday morning crash on Highway 97 in Deschutes County.
The mishap happened at around 4 a.m. December 20 on State Route 97 near milepost 128.
Reportedly, a northbound Ford Town & Country, driven by Steven Thomas Lakey ,54, of Bend, struck Watkins who was on the roadway for unknown reasons.
Watkins was declared deceased at the scene.
Lakey was not injured in the wreck.
The highway was impacted for approximately three hours during the on-scene investigation.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
