Reportedly, Hartson was standing in a lane near the main gate to Joint Base Lewis-McChord when she was hit by a vehicle driven by a 32-year-old Lacey driver.
Pierce County, WA. – 44-year-old Ginger S. Hartson of Bellevue was identified as a female pedestrian killed in a crash on Interstate 5 in Pierce County about two weeks ago.
The Washington State Police said the wreck happened at around 10:35 p.m. August 26 on 5 Freeway near Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
Reportedly, Hartson was standing in a lane near the main gate to Joint Base Lewis-McChord when she was hit by a vehicle driven by a 32-year-old Lacey driver.
Hartson was declared dead at the scene.
The 32-year-old Lacey driver and her 8-year-old passenger were not hurt.
The Lacey driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the officers.
An investigation is underway.
