, California – Injuries were reported in a crash involving multiple vehicles near Petaluma on Saturday night, the California Highway Patrol said.

The collision happened at around 8:24 p.m. November 11, on Highway 101 near Pepper Road and Penngrove.

The California Highway Patrol said five cars were involved and one of the cars overturned.

One party was extricated by emergency crews.

Two ambulances were requested for the injured parties.

The number of those hurt and the extent of their injuries were not specified.

The southbound side of the highway was shut down as authorities investigated the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
