Female Seriously Injured on 580 Freeway in Livermore

Livermore, California (September 19, 2023) – A female was seriously injured after a three-vehicle collision on Interstate 580 in Livermore Tuesday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the traffic accident was reported at around 5:27 a.m., westbound Interstate 580 just west of Vasco Road on-ramp.

Three vehicles were involved in the incident.

Authorities said a white Compact was speeding on the roadway when it merged and drifted lanes and struck two other vehicles involving a semi-truck.

One of the cars possibly caught fire and trapped a female party inside. The woman had to be extricated.

The female suffered major injuries in the collision.

An investigation is ongoing.
