A black Mercedes was reportedly weaving in and out of lanes before it collided with another vehicle on 5 Freeway
Laguna Hills, Calif. – A driver was seriously injured following a traffic collision involving at least two vehicles on Interstate 5 Freeway in Laguna Hills Sunday morning.
At about 9:18 a.m. on November 12, CHP officials received reports of a vehicle swerving in and out of lanes along Interstate 5 Freeway.
About a minute later a traffic collision involving three vehicles was reported on southbound 5 Freeway north of Lake Forest Drive.
The driver of a Mercedes, described only as a female, sustained major injuries and was taken to Mission Heritage in Laguna Hills. It was not immediately clear if any other person was injured in the crash.
Witnesses told investigators that the driver of the black Mercedes was weaving in and out of lanes prior to the traffic collision.
A white Toyota was at the scene of the crash and was blocking the middle lanes.
No additional details regarding the crash were provided.
The crash remains under investigation but police suspect drugs or alcohol may have played a role in the incident.
