Driver Injured After Partial Ejection on Highway 49 in Placerville

Placerville, Calif. – A driver was seriously injured in a possible two-vehicle crash on Highway 49 in Placerville Monday, according to a CHP report.

The crash happened around 6:04 p.m. on November 13, on Highway 49 near Pleasant Valley Road.

According to the CHP, a white GMC Sierra overturned after colliding with another vehicle. The driver of the overturned GMC was partially ejected and sustained major injuries.

The victim was transported by a ground ambulance to Dawson where they were airlifted to a hospital.

Highway 49 was shut down in both directions as crews worked to clear the scene and investigate the incident. The roadway was reopened just after 9 p.m.

The crash remains under investigation.
