Daniel Jacobs was driving his Infiniti sedan east on Indian School Road when he ran a red light and collided with a Toyota Tacoma driven by a 29-year-old man.
Phoenix, AZ – The police identified Daniel Jacobs, 30, as a man killed in a traffic collision that sent another to hospital in critical condition near Indian School Road in West Phoenix Friday night.
The Phoenix Police responded to a three-vehicle crash at around 10:30 p.m. on December 13 near Indian School Road and Interstate 17.
A preliminary investigation revealed Jacobs was driving his Infiniti sedan east on Indian School Road when he ran a red light and collided with a Toyota Tacoma driven by a 29-year-old man.
Jacobs' car then left the roadway and crashed through a chain link fence before dropping 30 feet onto the southbound 17 Freeway, where it was struck by a GMC Sierra truck driven by a 39-year-old.
The sedan came to rest against the freeway barrier.
Jacobs was extricated from his car and taken to the hospital, where he died the next day.
The male driver of the Tacoma was also extricated and taken to the hospital in critical condition.
No other information about the crash was released.
An investigation is ongoing.
