Bakersfield, CA. – A CHP officer and two other parties were hurt when a suspected DUI driver failed to stop at a barricade at a DUI checkpoint in Bakersfield Saturday night.
According to the authorities, the incident took place shortly after 8 p.m. December 14, in the area of Calloway Drive and Slikker Road.
The CHP officers were reportedly setting up a DUI checkpoint on northbound Calloway Drive when a suspected DUI motorist crashesld through the barricade.
The suspect collided with a patrol vehicle and hit the officers who were pulling out cones from the truck.
A CHP officer and two other parties were injured in the collision and were taken to hospitals for treatment.
The driver who caused the crash was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
