One Person Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 299 in Alturas

Alturas, California (November 3, 2023) – At least one person died after two vehicles collided on Highway 299 in Modoc County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at about 4:20 p.m. on Highway 299, just east of Mile Marker 49.90, east side of Cedar Pass in Alturas.
Deputies responded to the scene and located one person who was unresponsive.
According to CHP’s information page, at least one person died in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
