CHP Investigating 7-Vehicle Collision on I-680 in Fremont

Fremont, California (November 8, 2023) – Minor injuries were sustained in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Tuesday evening in Fremont, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The pileup occurred around 6:55 p.m. on northbound Interstate 680, just north of State Route 262.

First responders found a semi-truck, a white Toyota Tacoma pickup truck towing a trailer partially underneath the semi’s trailer, a Toyota Camry with major front and rear end damage, and four other vehicles.

Medical personnel evaluated the motorists and helped an unknown number of them who suffered minor injuries.

The semi, Tacoma, and Camry were towed away from the scene. The Tacoma’s trailer had four broken tires.

CHP officers are investigating the cause of the accident.
