Catrina Carrillo-Ruiz Killed in Long Beach Accident at Pacific Avenue and 21st Street

Long Beach, California (August 18, 2021) – Catrina Carrillo-Ruiz, 19, of Long Beach, was one of two people killed in a car accident in Long Beach on Monday morning, according to authorities.
The incident happened at about 1:40 a.m. August 16, at Pacific Avenue and 21st Street.
Police said a 44-year-old Los Angeles woman was driving a 2017 Honda Civic northbound on Pacific Avenue when she collided with a blue 2015 Toyota Camry driven by Carrillo-Ruiz.

Carrillo-Ruiz was pronounced deceased at a hospital while her passenger, Frances Rodriguez, 23, died at the scene.
The driver of the Honda and her passenger, a 30-year-old Gardena man, were both taken to hospital with critical injuries.
Authorities said speed is suspected to be a factor in the crash.
The incident is under investigation.
