Both drivers were trapped in their vehicles and were extricated by the LAFD firefighters before they were pronounced dead at the scene
Los Angeles, CA. – The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner has identified two people who died in a car crash in the Vermont Knolls community of South Los Angeles on Sunday morning.
The double-fatal crash happened around 5:03 a.m. on 959 W Manchester Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Two vehicles, each with a single occupant, collided on the roadway in unclear circumstances.
The collision sent both cars off the roadway and toward a building under construction.
Both drivers were trapped in their vehicles and were extricated by the LAFD firefighters. Sadly, they died at the accident scene.
They have since been identified as 54-year-old Carlos Rompich-Cobach and 31-year-old Nordarrion Braswell, both of Los Angeles.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
