Bryan Griffiths Hurt in Deadly San Luis Obispo Crash on Highway 1 at Highland Drive

San Luis Obispo, California (September 11, 2021) – Bryan Griffiths, 79, of Morro Bay was hurt in a fatal Saturday morning car accident in San Luis Obispo, the California Highway Patrol said.

The wreck took place on Highway 1 and Highland Drive at around 6:45 a.m.

Griffiths was driving a 2010 Ford-150 when he failed to stop for a red light at the intersection and broadsided a 1990 Volvo that was trying to make a left turn onto Highway 1.

The impact pushed the Volvo into a 2006 BMW 750.

Bryan Griffiths Injured in Deadly San Luis Obispo Car Crash on Highway 1  

Griffiths sustained moderate injuries and was transported to French Hospital.

The driver of the Volvo, a 17-year-old San Luis Obispo boy, died at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center.

The driver of the BMW, Tisha Leigh Breda, 50, of Cambria, suffered minor injuries.

The crash is under investigation.
