Salida, CA. – A boy was seriously injured in a bicycle accident on Tuesday evening in Salida.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at Salida Boulevard and Broadway Avenue.
CHP's investigation shows the boy was riding a bicycle in an easterly direction within a crosswalk and was attempting to cross Salida Boulevard when he was hit by a northbound 2019 Acura driven by 28-year-old Maria Torres.
The boy was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to Doctors Medical Center.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
