Bicyclists Killed in Crash with Car on Pacific Avenue in West Long Beach

, California (October 28, 2023) – A male bicyclist was killed when he was struck by a vehicle in front of the Metro A Line station in west Long Beach Saturday afternoon, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The fatal accident happened at about 3:20 p.m. on Pacific Avenue at Wardlow Road.

Long Beach Police Department officers and Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and located the bicyclist in the roadway in critical condition. The fire crews transported the man to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the bicyclist remained at the scene. Police say the woman cooperated with investigators.

Pacific Avenue was shut down at Wardlow Road for the crash investigation.

The incident remains under investigation.
