Rider Killed in Bakersfield Bicycle Accident on South Union Avenue

Bakersfield, California (September 19, 2023) – A bicyclist was killed in a crash that happened in Bakersfield on Tuesday morning, according to the authorities.
The incident happened on South Union Avenue near Garden Drive.
Authorities said a 39-year-old woman was riding a bike east across northbound Union Avenue when she was hit by a Toyota Corolla traveling in the fast lane.
The bicyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The woman driving the Corolla stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
