Banning, CA. – At least one person was airlifted to the hospital after a traffic collision involving two motorcycles that happened Sunday morning near Banning, the California Highway Patrol said.
The crash was reported around 10:06 a.m. on State Route 243 near Mile Marker 3.
CHP said a blue Jeep collided with two motorcycles for an unknown reason.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found one of the riders with severe injuries. The victim was airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment.
It was unclear if the other motorcyclist was injured.
The highway lanes were blocked until around noon following the accident.
Authorities are investigating the collision.
