Kent, WA – At least one person was seriously injured in a wrong-way collision early Sunday morning on Highway 167 in Kent.
According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, the collision was reported at around 3 a.m. on State Route 167 and Carpool Lane.
A preliminary investigation revealed a driver was traveling in the wrong direction when it collided with two other vehicles.
At least one person sustained serious injuries in the crash and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities said the wrong-way driver will face charges of vehicular assault. If impairment is determined to be a factor, additional charges for driving under the influence may be filed.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
