According to the police, James was riding a motorcycle that collided with a car near the intersection

Portland, OR– The motorcyclist who was killed in a crash in Northeast Portland on Tuesday afternoon has been identified as Alexander James, 26, of Happy Valley, according to the Portland Police Bureau.
The incident took place at around 3:45 p.m. September 2, on Northeast Lombard Street and 15th Avenue.
According to the police, James was riding a motorcycle that collided with a car near the intersection.
It's unclear what led up to the crash.
As James was being transported to a hospital by ambulance, the ambulance got into another accident near Lombard Street and Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard.
A second ambulance transported James to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver involved in the initial crash with James was transported with minor injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
