Aimee Garcia ID'd as Woman Killed in Encino Accident on 101 Freeway near 405 Freeway
Encino, California (August 15, 2021) – Aimee Guadalupe Garcia, has been identified as the woman who was killed in a Thursday evening traffic accident in Encino, authorities said.
The deadly accident transpired at about 7:10 p.m., on August 12, on 101 Freeway near 405 Freeway.
According to the officials, Cesar Iban Torres, 31, Los Angeles, was driving a 2003 Lincoln SUV westbound on eastbound 101 Freeway when he collided head-on with an oncoming 2016 Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by Jose Garcia Lopez, of San Diego near 405 Freeway.
Guadalupe Garcia, who was a passenger in the SUV, died in the collision. Children aged 2, 5, 12, and 13, were also passengers in the SUV. The four were taken to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center with minor injuries.
Lopez complained of pain to his head and was treated at the scene.
Cesar Torres Arrested after Deadly Encino Car Accident
Torres reportedly tried to flee on foot but was arrested after he tried to resist arrest. He was also taken to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
Multiple lanes were shut down as crews worked at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
