According to a preliminary investigation, a yellow Volvo semi-truck operated by Alinur was traveling eastbound on the freeway when it struck the rear end of a gray Kenworth semi-truck operated by Illia Kodzhebash, 45, of Kent, Washington. After striking the Kenworth, the Volvo crossed the travel lanes and overturned in the median.
Union County, OR. – Abdiwasa Abdullahi Alinur, 27, of Portland, was identified as a victim killed in a traffic collision on Interstate 84 in Union County Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Oregon State Police, the wreck happened at around 1:30 p.m. August 27 on 84 Freeway near milepost 268.

After striking the Kenworth, the Volvo crossed the travel lanes and overturned in the median.
Alinur was ejected from the vehicle and declared deceased at the scene.
Kodzhebash was not injured and remained at the scene.
The highway was impacted for approximately four hours for the on-scene investigation.
