Eight Injured in Seattle Crash on Westlake Avenue North

Seattle, WA.- Several people were injured in a collision that took place in the East Queen Anne neighborhood early Sunday morning, according to the Seattle Fire Department.

The incident took place in the 2500 block of Westlake Avenue North just after 2 a.m.

According to the authorities, a white Acura sedan was allegedly racing a second vehicle southbound on Westlake Avenue North when the sedan swerved into the oncoming lanes and collided head-on with a Ford Explorer.

Two people were trapped in the wreckage and were rescued by firefighters.

Eight parties were injured in the accident and were transported to the hospital.

Three of the patients had critical injuries while three others sustained serious injuries.

The driver of the Acura was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
