Six People Fatally Injured in Riverside County Multi-Car Accident at Bridge Street and Gilman Springs Road

, CA. – Six People were killed and four others hospitalized after a fiery multi-vehicle collision at an intersection in County Monday afternoon, according to the CHP.

Crews responded to reports of the deadly crash at Bridge Street and Gilman Springs Road at around 2:19 p.m.

Reportedly, the wreck occurred after one of the cars tried to pass on the right shoulder when it lost control, hit the guardrail and caused head on collision.

The fourth car in this crash was pushed off the road, into the field and caught fire, killing two children and one adult.

The driver of the vehicle that caused the crash was declared deceased at scene also while the passenger was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries.

The police said a total of six victims died in the wreck and four of them with injuries ranging from minor to major were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Officials reported two closures on Gilman Springs, one at Highway 79 and one at Alessandro, which will remained closed for about five hours.

An investigation is ongoing.
