Kearny Mesa, California (September 30, 2023) – Four people were hurt when two vehicles collided at a Carl’s Jr. in Kearny Mesa on Saturday evening, according to San Diego police.

The incident occurred in the 3800 block of Convoy Street at about 6:40 a.m. 

Police said a Toyota Tacoma was heading north on Kearny Mesa Road when it collided with a curb and went flying, landing on a stopped Honda sedan.

The driver of the Toyota, a 23-year-old man, was taken to a hospital with major injuries.

The other motorist, a 40-year-old woman, and her two adult passengers, were all treated for minor injuries.

The driver of the Tacoma was suspected to have been driving under the influence of alcohol.

The northbound lanes of Kearny Mesa Road were shut down as authorities investigated the incident.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
