Sutter County, CA. – Three people were taken to the hospital after a multi-vehicle crash involving a tow truck that happened Wednesday afternoon near Live Oak.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pileup occurred around 3 p.m. on Highway 99 near Lomo Crossing north of Yuba City.
A tow truck, a silver Subaru station wagon, a Nissan pickup truck, a Hyundai SUV, and a Mazda SUV were involved in the collision.
Authorities said the tow truck driver failed to slow down for traffic and rear-ended the Subaru. The other vehicles were also involved in the collision.
The driver of the Subaru, a 50-year-old woman, was taken to Rideout Hospital by Bi-County ambulance with unspecified injuries. An air ambulance was initially requested to respond to airlift the woman but was canceled.
Two other people were hospitalized with minor injuries.
Authorities are investigating the crash.
