, CA. – Two San Francisco motorcycle officers were injured in a head-on collision involving an Uber driver that happened Tuesday afternoon in the Potrero Hill neighborhood of San Francisco.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, the crash occurred around 5 p.m. on Cesar Chavez Street at Pennsylvania Avenue.

Authorities said two officers were traveling westbound on Cesar Chavez Street on their motorcycles when they collided head-on with an Uber driver.

San Francisco police officers and other emergency personnel responded to the scene and rendered aid to the injured officers and the car driver.

SFPD said all three patients were transported to local hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. However, the San Francisco Police Officers Association said one of the officers was in critical condition.

A spokesperson for Uber said the driver involved in the accident was a driver for the rideshare company.

Police do not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in the accident.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
